The fact that video games have “gameplay” distinguishes them from other types of art. The emotion of playing a game is referred to as gameplay. Is it simple or tough to control? Is your character moving in the way you want them to? Do you get frustrated when you can’t get the game to do what you want it to do? The majority of these questions revolve around how well the game is controlled. In an ideal world, you wouldn’t notice the controls while playing, and the character onscreen would behave exactly how you’d expect. Regrettably, not all games work in this manner. Here are a few games that have a variety of terrible controls.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

The third installment’s controls are perhaps the weakest, but that’s due to its scope. In this game, you can do a lot of different things, but the makers didn’t do a great job selecting which buttons should be allocated to which activities. The result is a control method that is so different from other games that it’s difficult to comprehend. You’ll uncover one of the great masterpieces of that or any other console generation if you persevere and force yourself to learn the controls. To get there, you only have to put in a lot of useless effort.

I Am Bread

The majority of games with poor controls do so by accident. I Am Bread was created with poor controls in mind. It’s part of a completely new category of games where the main challenge is overcoming strange control systems. Not only is it difficult to handle the Bread, but you can’t leave it on filthy surfaces for long. The end effect is both amusing and irritating.

Tomb Raider

The original Tomb Raider, released in 1996 for the PlayStation One, was a showcase for the system. Aside from the heroine’s oddly pointed bosom, it has some of the most realistic-looking graphics ever seen. But, as wonderful as the game was, to say it was difficult to handle is an understatement. Tomb Raider, like Resident Evil, has “tank controls,” which means that pushing up always drives the character forward, regardless of which way she’s facing. To put it frankly, tank controls are terrible, especially intense scenarios like needing to make a daring jump or being mauled by a tiger, which has happened to Lara before.
