Nayeon of TWICE didn’t always have a strong command of the Japanese language, so she had to rely on more unusual means of communication!
TWICE’s Chaeyoung revealed a humorous incident involving Nayeon in a previous interview with 1theK. Nayeon struggled to get her point across when they ordered room service at their Japanese hotel, she claimed.
They travel frequently, and she usually shares a room with Nayeon. They were trying to get room service in Japanese, but their language skills aren’t quite there yet. There’s a video of her ordering in Japanese that’s hilarious.

Nayeon noted that while she was aware that the hotel personnel spoke English, she couldn’t help but mix up English, Korean, and Japanese when chatting!
Fortunately, they got what she was trying to express.
The people that work at the front desk are fluent in English. Her Korean, Japanese, and English all poured out, and she was surprised they comprehended anything at all.

When Jeongyeon heard the story, she remarked that it would have been amusing if the employees had been fluent in Korean the entire time. Nayeon’s efforts would have been useless if they did!
