The Maldives is ideal for water sports, romance, and adventure. We stayed on two private islands in the Maldives, but we were able to take several day trips to explore the surrounding atolls and Male, the capital city. These are the top Maldives activities for everyone!

Scuba Diving: The Maldives is one of the world’s top scuba diving locations, and if there’s one place you should do it, it’s here. If you are not certified, there are numerous reasonable PADI dive facilities where you may do an exploration dive or sign up for many diving choices to one of the many reefs.

Snorkeling Trips: If you don’t want to dive, snorkeling is a great option. The Maldives’ reefs are so gorgeous that you won’t need to go very deep to see a lot! We went sea turtle snorkeling and saw more than a half-dozen of them feeding at the reef. After two hours in the water, we noticed a lot more marine life than only sea turtles. Snorkeling is unquestionably one of the most popular Maldivian activities.

Dolphin Watching: We asked our greeter at Cinnamon Hakuraa what she thought was one of the nicest things to do in the Maldives when we arrived. She declared, “Hands down, The Dolphin Excursion.” As a result, we decided to go ahead and execute it. We sailed out shortly before dark in search of dolphin pods. Our skipper didn’t have to look long to find one. We’ve seen a few dolphins in the wild, and the Maldives’ dolphins are some of the most active and lively we’ve ever seen!

Island hopping: Believe it or not, the Maldives has a sizable population, with many residents living and working on the islands. If you’re staying on a private island in the Maldives, make sure to schedule a tour of the surrounding islands and settlements. The day excursion around the islands was fantastic.

Locals to Meet: We were amazed to see a functioning city and square on both little islands, complete with schools, community centres, and banks, as we walked through the concrete structures. These are arguably the tiniest inhabited islands we’ve ever seen, but they’re bustling with activity.
