Margot Elise Robbie was born in Dalby, Queensland, Australia on July 2, 1990, to Scottish parents. Sarie Kessler, her mother, is a physiotherapist, and Doug Robbie, her father. She is the youngest of four siblings, with two brothers and one sister. She attended Somerset College in Mudgeeraba, Queensland, Australia, a town in the Gold Coast hinterland of South East Queensland, where she was reared by her mother and lived much of her days at her grandparents’ farm. She relocated to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in her late teens to seek an acting career.

Robbie soared to prominence after co-starring in Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated film The Wolf of Wall Street with Leonardo DiCaprio in the character of Naomi Lapaglia (2013). She was shortlisted for an MTV Movie Award for Breakthrough Performance, as well as a slew of other accolades.
