Vijay Deverakonda is one of the most widespread actors in the Telugu film industry. Arjun Readdy, his 2017 movie is what propelled his career forward to new heights of fame! It was a dark romance written and directed by debutante, Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The movie did quite well and even got a Hindi remake, titled Kabir Singh. The actor bagged quite a few accolades for the role as well.
Vijay Deverakonda stole the show with his performance. His portrayal of his character, an alcoholic with anger issues was near perfect. While people know quite a bit of trivia about the critically acclaimed movie, what audiences don’t know is that there was another actor who was approached for the role before Vijay.
Sharwanand was the actor who Sandeep first approached for the role. The director had approached him in 2016 and pitched the story to him. However, for several reasons, he declined the offer and the rest is history.
Sharwanand himself confirmed this as per a Times of India report. He revealed why he had to pass on the opportunity to act in the movie. He said, “Sandeep narrated the story to me first. Actually, he wanted to produce the film, but I felt that it was a big responsibility for him, so I sent him to a few producers. But they felt that it was a risky project and that’s how I couldn’t do it. I felt bad that I couldn’t do the project, but now, after the film has become a huge hit, I feel that Vijay was the right actor for it”.
