‘Katappa Ne Baahubali Ko Kyon Maara’ – The last time a film created such a pre-release hype at the box office, it was due to this very question that was on everyone’s lips as SS Rajamouli unleashed Baahubali – The Conclusion at the audience. The film emerged as an All Time Mega Blockbuster while justifying all the hype surrounding it.

Now even bigger hype is being evidenced 9 years after this epic affair starring Prabhas as Ranveer Singh returns with Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar – The Revenge just 100 odd days after Dhurandhar created frenzy in December 2025. The film turned out of be biggest Bollywood grosser of all times (and biggest single language industry hit across all Indian films ever made), and ended up collecting just a bit lesser than 900 crores.

Though common sentiment is that Dhurandhar – The Revenge would turn out to be an even bigger success, that would be too early to predict as such kind of numbers can be achieved only if a film is truly mind blowing. However what can be predicted is the first day number since that’s a reflection of on-ground hype for a film and when it comes to Dhurandhar – The Revenge, it’s simply on the next level.

Last weekend advance booking opened for Wednesday evening 5 PM onwards paid preview shows, the indications were pretty much there that it would enjoy not just ignite the biggest ever pre-release box office mayhem, it would go far ahead if that. So far the record was held by Stree 2 which had collected 9.40 crores on paid previews and that number was history within hours of advance booking being opened for Dhurandhar – The Revenge.

The stage was set for far higher glories, which means now the comparison is with the entire first day collections of the last few big box office openers that Bollywood has seen since Stree 2 (2024). It had collected 55.40 crores on its entire first day full fledged release and that number will be out of the equation for Dhurandhar – The Revenge paid previews. However there are many other movies that have released in last year 19 months.

First film to make way for the Aditya Dhar saga would be Border 2 which had collected 32.10 crores on its first day. Then last year’s biggest Bollywood opener, Chhaava (33.10 courses), would be comfortably surpassed as well. If we go a year back, Diwali release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (36.60 crores) would find itself in a touch-and-go situation as well in case Dhurandhar – The Revenge goes on a rampage. However the real big challenge would be posed by Singham Again (43.70 crores) and that fill looks way out of reach.

The fact that we are comparing less than half a day of box office revenue with a complete Day One of other biggies since 2024 gods on to show the kind of might that Dhurandhar – The Revenge is enjoying. As for the kind of collections that the film enjoys on its first full fledged day, Thursday, it would actually be competing with the likes of Jawan (75 crores) and Pushpa 2 (72 crores) to wear the crown of the biggest Day One ever.

Sky is the limit for this much anticipated film and next few days will witness newer records being set on a day-on-day basis.

Here are the biggest Day One collections since 2024 that Dhurandhar – The Revenge would be eyeing on its Wednesday Paid Previews:

Stree – 55.40 crores

Singham Again – 43.70 crores

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 – 36.60 crores

Chhaava – 33.10 crores

Border 2 – 32.10 crores

Note: All collections are as per various box office sources
