Kartik Aaryan is well and truly the blue-eyed boy of Hindi cinema today. Like him or hate him, you cannot ignore the success this young boy from Gwalior has achieved in the last few years. Although he started his career-long back, he managed to become the sensation that he is today only after consistent blockbuster successes in movies like Luka Chhupi, Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety, Love Aaj Kal, Dhamaka and the recent Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which is also hailed by many as the first blockbuster of Hindi cinema in 2022. Just like how Shah Rukh Khan conquered all odds thrown against him to eventually earn the tag of ‘Badshah Of Bollywood’, Kartik too has managed to work things around in his favour despite a lot of negativity which might probably have been a paid propaganda stunt as well by certain individuals from the individual. Well, it’s an open secret in Bollywood that such things do happen right?
From random dating rumours with co-stars to reports of him being ‘unprofessional’ and getting almost thrown out from every other project, we kinda saw Kartik deal with all. But hey, given the resilience and calm that he’s shown through all this, it gives us the vibe of a star who’s all set to transfer himself into the world of superstardom. Whenever someone starts to get into the zone of a ‘superstar’, we have seen some of the most talented actors around vanish in thin air because they ‘forgot’ to acknowledge the very basic reason who gave them that tag and Kartik Aaryan seems to have differed on grounds with his gestures.
Superstardom is all about mass appeal and you simply can’t continue to remain one until and unless you take your people along with you throughout. Be it fans, the media or your staff, it’s very important to take them along with you and make them a part of your success since the only way you can sustain for long is by being a likeable personality beyond just your screen presence. Well, this is something that the superstar duo of Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have done wonderfully. Even now, from celebrating a birthday to a film’s success, the likes of Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan even today prefer giving some time to their fans and media who have helped them become what they are. No, we aren’t against stars celebrating fancy holidays abroad whenever they want to ring in their special day. To each, their own. However, if you at all want to be a people’s man, in the long run, such things become a compulsion and that’s where a lot of stars are perhaps lagging.
While some stars prefer selectively talking to the media before or after a film’s release, most of them forget or choose not to celebrate the success with their fans and media once the film has hit the screen. That’s where Kartik seems to be a tad different from the result. When Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 became a grand success, he not only organised a special ‘meet and greet’ with media personalities to engage with them post the success, but he also decided to take his entire team on a lavish European tour just to celebrate the love that has come his way after the success. This is something even SRK and Aamir have been great at over the years. Even today, Aamir prefers spending time with fans and cutting the cake with the paparazzi and media around just to continue getting the love he has been bestowed with over the years. The sight around Mannat on 2nd November every year is simply incomplete until we see King Khan waving at them to acknowledge their presence. Well, not just these folks, there’s another area where we feel Kartik is pretty much following SRK and Aamir Khan’s footsteps.
In the beginning stages of their respective careers, both Aamir and SRK discovered their niche and held onto it for the majority of their career. Be it through certain dialogues or hand gestures or other things, they managed to create their niche smartly and subtly. Well, Kartik has hit the bull’s eye in that department too. Whenever we think of pulling off difficult and funny monologues or whenever we think of someone who has to pull off some whacky and creative dance steps, Mr Aaryan is pretty much there in everyone’s minds for a reason. Last but certainly not least, another thing that Kartik has been following and will hopefully continue to follow is to not let the success get in his head. Even today, SRK and Aamir come off as individuals who are grounded and humble when it comes to dealing with fans and the media.
