Raja Chanda squanders no time in the Police. From the first frame to the last, this is unapologetic, single-screen masala, served piping hot and filling the very title, “Police.”
Tota Roy Choudhury is back in the moment as an action hero, and there he reminds you why Tollywood loves him in these updos. He takes on the role of a brutal supercop who doesn’t follow any rules but only believes in the “beauty of duty.” Tota gives a performance that is at once very powerful and very old-school; you can feel the impact of each punch, stare and shot.

The plot is straightforward: a mastermind is behind a chain of brutal murders, the city is burning with protests and political games, and only this one-man army can stop the chaos.
Raja Chanda doesn’t decorate it with slow emotional tracks; You get non-stop bone-crushing stunts, car crashes, explosions, gun battles, and raw hand-to-hand fights. There’s blood, there’s gore, and there isn’t a single frame that feels sanitised.

Paean Sarkar plays the devoted wife and gets a couple of tender scenes that offer brief breathing space in the madness. We find her shining at every moment, becoming a safe space for this deadly cop.
Well, the Police is loud, violent and proudly commercial. It takes you back to the era when heroes walked out of burning buildings in slow motion.

Why watch it? Well, if you miss that unfiltered, high-voltage crime drama, Raja Chanda serves it on a platter.
It’s fair to call the movie a pure, unadulterated mass entertainer. Walk in for Tota Roy Choudhury’s power-packed comeback and Raja Chanda’s raw direction.
IWMBuzz rates it 4 stars.
