Amid his Alliance reality show appearance making buzz online, Salman Khan has now landed in legal trouble. Reportedly, the actor has been issued a summon notice from the Chandigarh district court, including his sister Alvira Khan Agnihotri and directors of Style and Content Jewelry Private Limited.
The mentioned people have been accused in a cheating case linked to the Being Human jewelry showroom in the city. In the matter, the court has ordered all the accused to appear on October 5 and file their response to the allegations leveled against them.
The reports say the case was filed by Chandigarh-based businessman Arun Gupta, who alleged that he was induced into opening a Being Human jewelry showroom in Manimajra on false assurances, leading to losses of several crores.
As per the complainant, Arun invested around 3 crore rupees to set up the showroom following arguments with Style and Content Jewelry Private Limited, the same company that has a license to market Being Human jewelry. He also said 1 crore was spent just to make the showroom and claimed that he fully complied with the company’s contract rules.
But Arun claimed that after the showroom became operational, the company failed to provide the promised business support and also said the store responsible for supplying Being Human jewelry was shut since February 2020, which caused the disruption.
Arun accused the six people involved of misrepresenting the business opportunity and inducing him to invest.
In the matter, the company earlier denied direct involvement of Salman Khan in the 2018 agreement with the Chandigarh business. It also added that Salman Khan Foundation had merely handed the license of the Being Human brand to Style and Content Jewelry Private Limited in 2015, while the responsibility for operating, marketing, and selling the jewelry rested entirely with the company.
