Bhooth Bangla Box Office Collection Day 1: The horror-comedy starring Akshay Kumar has opened on a good note, collecting a whopping 16 crore on its first day (First Friday). Directed by Priyadarshan, the film on its day 0 earned 3.75 crore with 2485 preview shows on Thursday (April 16) evening as per Sacnilk reports. On the opening day, Friday, April 17, the film collected a good 12.25 crore across 12,386 shows, bringing the overall net India total to 16 crore.

The total net India collection of the film now stands at 19.20 crore. In contrast, the comedy film crossed a total of 9.50 crore in collections across the globe, which brings the grand worldwide total of the film to 28.70 crore on its day 1 (release day).

Owing to its strong word of mouth, the film’s nostalgic feel, Akshay Kumar’s comeback in a horror comedy, and the film’s quirky ride convinced viewers to head to the theatres. The biggest factor turns out to be the presence of Akshay Kumar, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, and Arshani—they guarantee entertainment with their camaraderie.

Bhooth Bangla is produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and Akshay Kumar under his banner Cape of Good Films. The film marks the return of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after a long time. The film hit theatres on April 17, following paid previews on the evening of April 16. The film also has Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, and Tabu in central roles.
