Yash Raj,perhaps the most illustrious banner in Bollywood, is in two minds about how to position Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which releases this Friday, given the gauntlet that has been created by the other films.
On the one end there is the threat of being smothered by last week’s blockbuster from the Marvel universe Dr Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.
Although not as big a success as the previous Marvel presentation Spiderman Long Way From Home, Doctor Strange is still a big enough success(it opened at Rs 27-28 crore rupees on Friday) to pose a looming threat to this Friday’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
Remember what The Kashmir Files did to Bachchan Pandey and what KGF2 did to Jersey and Heropanti 2?Trade experts feel a similar fate awaits Jayeshbhai, though Ranveer Singh is supremely confident about scoring a bull’s eye with this socially relevant comedy.
On the other hand,the new Mahesh Babu starrer Sarkaru Vaari Paata which opens on Thursday 12 May, suffers from no fear of flying. Preview audiences, including this writer, predict a huge success for Sarkaru Vaari Paata , not only in Andhra and Telangana but the rest of the country.
Doctor Strange won’t affect Mahesh Babu’s film , as Doctor Strange is not doing as well in the South as the North.
