The National Christian Federation (NCF) has lodged a formal complaint against the teaser of Yash’s upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, which they claim disrespects their religious beliefs. The complaint was submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification, the Film Chamber of Commerce, and state authorities on February 11-12 2026.

NCF president Pradeep Kumar objected to the film’s portrayal of Archangel Michael, calling it disrespectful to the holy figure. The group specifically identified an intimate car scene which took place near a cemetery and included a violent gunfight that displayed religious iconography through a statue of the archangel. The federation described these sequences as containing “obscene visuals” which displayed sacred Christian symbols that create a “derogatory portrayal of Christianity.”

The NCF demands that all disputed scenes be removed, along with all promotional material, including YouTube videos, and that the filmmakers issue a public apology. The group has announced it will pursue legal action if its concerns remain unaddressed.

Toxic is currently facing its latest controversy. The Aam Aadmi Party Women’s Wing and activist Dinesh Kallahalli filed complaints with the Karnataka State Women’s Commission about sexually explicit and morally offensive content. The production faced an FIR alleging illegal tree cutting at its shooting location.

Toxic will have its worldwide premiere on March 19 2026, through a release directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions. The filmmakers have not yet responded to the NCF’s allegations.
