As the film’s exclusive pan-India theatrical distributor, Cinépolis India rebuilt the release market by market as audience demand grew through Weeks 3 and 4.

National, 2nd September, 2026: Hanuman Ansh, the Hindi devotional drama on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, distributed exclusively across the country by Cinépolis India, has crossed Rs 50 crore at the India box office. The film is currently playing on more than 2,000 screens across the country, its widest footprint since release.

The film opened on approximately 250 screens and collected ₹90 lakh across India in Week 1. The release was consolidated to around 40 screens in Week 2, where it collected ₹46 lakh. On the reduced footprint, per-screen collections nearly tripled over Week 1.

Based on that data, Cinépolis India’s distribution team began scaling the release back up. Performance was tracked centre by centre and show by show. Shows were retained where occupancy held, added where advance bookings built up, and the film was reintroduced in markets it had exited. Collections rose to approximately Rs 10.5 crore in Week 3 and crossed 50 crore in Week 4.

Devang Sampat, Managing Director, Cinépolis India, said: “Most films get judged in two weekends. The data on this one told us to wait. When we consolidated to 40 screens in the second week, per-screen collections nearly tripled, which told us the film was holding its audience.

So we rebuilt the release around that demand, centre by centre. We held shows where occupancy was strong, added shows where bookings built up, and took the film back into markets it had left. It is now playing on more than 2,000 screens across every major chain and hundreds of independent cinemas. Distribution is a growing part of our business in India, and this is how we run it through data and audience insights. A theatrical run should be shaped by demand, and this film shows what that looks like in practice.”

As the film’s distributor, Cinépolis India manages Hanuman Ansh’s theatrical release across all cinema chains and independent cinemas in the country, beyond its own circuit. The collection figures cited are pan-India numbers across all exhibitors.

Hanuman Ansh is written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and produced under the banners of SWAMbhu Media Network and Holy Cow Home Productions. The film continues its theatrical run nationwide.

Vishal Chaturvedi, Producer, Writer and Director, Hanuman Ansh, said: “Cinépolis India believed in Hanuman Ansh and supported the film with tremendous commitment. Their distribution and on-ground execution played an important role in taking our film to audiences across India. What truly stood out was the personal involvement of the Cinépolis team, constantly calling theatres across India, checking audience response and keeping us informed about occupancies and the film’s performance. I am truly grateful for their passion, partnership and belief in the film.”

Namrata G. Singh, Producer, Hanuman Ansh said, “Hanuman Ansh has been a deeply special journey for all of us, and the response from audiences has been truly overwhelming. We are extremely grateful to Cinépolis India for believing in the film, supporting it wholeheartedly and giving it the reach it deserved across India. Their commitment to the film and its audiences has played an important role in its success.”
