Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra, a gritty thriller exploring extrajudicial encounters and the grey areas of institutional morality, received positive-to-mixed reviews from critics. However, despite the intense post-release word-of-mouth, the film is struggling to find significant footfall at the box office.
On Day 3 (First Sunday), the film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Meghna Gulzar collected ₹1.75 crore net across 1,839 shows with 20 percent occupancy, unchanged from the previous day (Day 2/First Saturday), according to Sacnilk reports.
The film saw 22.13 percent overall occupancy on Day 3, with the highest in the evening at 32 percent and the lowest in the morning at 8.77 percent. The afternoon had 26.77 percent occupancy, and nighttime had 21 percent occupancy. The film, also starring Kshitee Jog in a key role, saw the highest occupancy in NCR, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad, and the lowest in Bhopal.
