Darshan Jariwala has opened up about the Ranbir-Katrina romance on the Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani set, Salman Khan’s surprise cameo and Katrina Kaif’s casting in Raajneeti during a candid conversation on Siddharth Kannan’s podcast. Darshan Jariwala shared several interesting behind-the-scenes anecdotes, giving fans a glimpse into the realities behind some memorable Bollywood moments.

Talking about Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s chemistry in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, Darshan Jariwala suggested that what audiences saw on screen was not entirely disconnected from reality. According to Darshan Jariwala, the chemistry between Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif was genuine, making their romantic moments in the film appear particularly convincing.

At the time, Katrina Kaif was reportedly with Salman Khan, while Ranbir Kapoor was with Deepika Padukone. Darshan Jariwala recalled how director Rajkumar Santoshi decided to bring Salman Khan on board for a cameo. He described Salman Khan’s presence as almost a bonus for the movie.

For Darshan Jariwala, Salman Khan has always been someone whose mere presence can make a difference. Speaking about the superstar, Darshan Jariwala emphasized that Salman Khan is almost “destiny’s child” for him, adding that simply having Salman Khan around carries its own importance because of his enormous stardom.

Darshan Jariwala also addressed another interesting question surrounding Raajneeti. When Siddharth Kannan asked why Katrina Kaif was chosen for a film featuring several established actors despite questions around her Hindi pronunciation, Darshan Jariwala explained that Prakash Jha has his own distinctive approach to casting.

Darshan Jariwala said that while Raajneeti dealt heavily with politics, the film also needed someone who could remain somewhat removed from that political world. Katrina Kaif filled that space in the ensemble. Darshan Jariwala also recalled moments from the shoot when Katrina Kaif would mispronounce certain words, with Ranbir Kapoor teasing her about it.

Darshan Jariwala’s revelations offer an entertaining glimpse into the making of these films and the personalities behind them, adding another layer to stories Bollywood fans have heard over the years.
