Farah Khan shared her experience with actor Akshaye Khanna, describing how he changed both his personal and professional life. Farah shared her difficulties with Akshaye from the 1990s because he was an introvert who made filming difficult. She admitted to even avoiding projects where he was involved, due to his irritable demeanour and unpredictable behaviour at the time. Farah explained that Akshaye experienced personal battles, which made his hair loss condition develop into a problem that impacted his mood and social behaviour at work.
According to Farah, the film Dil Chahta Hai showed a different attitude from Akshaye Khanna. She saw that he had become more relaxed because he accepted his personal fears. He displayed this change through his performance on screen and his behaviour outside of acting. Farah recognised his exceptional talent, but she specifically noted his dancing ability, which emerged during “Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe,” because she believed he surpassed all his fellow performers. Farah maintains a friendly relationship with Akshaye because she admires his professional dedication and his authentic love for acting.
Talking about him, Farah Khan said, “In the ’90s, I did a couple of movies with Akshaye, and after that I was traumatised. Because he used to be a different person. Yes, introverted, but not a nice person on set. Whenever I heard that Akshaye Khanna was in a film, I used to say, ‘I don’t have the dates’.” She added, “I think at that time he himself had said that he was losing his hair. He was constantly irritable. He used to throw things and say, ‘What kind of dialogue is this?’ He used to be that kind of person.” She further added that the situation changed when she worked with him in Dil Chahta Hai, where she found him more relaxed. She shared, “He had completely changed by then. He had reconciled with his hair. In Dil Chahta Hai, he became very chill. Before that, if there was water or rain in a scene, he would always wear a cap, like see every rain song of his, such as in Taal. But after Dil Chahta Hai, something changed. And he is a brilliant dancer, if you watch Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe, he is dancing better than Aamir and Saif,” per NDTV. She added that she now shares a warm bond with Akshaye Khanna and that she congratulated him after his last film, Dhurandhar, earned immense success at the box office. Adding on what she liked about Akshaye Khanna, she stated, “What I like about him is that he is not about the fluff, he is about the work. He enjoys acting,” per NDTV.
