Fierce. Intense. Commanding—Agastya Nanda epitomised all three in the trailer. His voice echoed through it, and we couldn’t let go of glances at him. We last saw him in The Archies, but Ikkis apparently looks like the massive game-changer for Agastya Nanda. His eyes are piercing. His voice cracks your nerves. You feel the presence—the usher.
‘Ikkis – The Untold True Story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal is directed by the national award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. The story weaves in the story of one of India’s youngest war heroes.
The trailer opens with Agastya Nanda’s determination. He fiercely declares that the following Param Vir Chakra will be from his regiment. You feel the grit where he says ‘My gun is still working. I’ll get these bastards!’—Agastya here looks like the voracious warrior, not willing to abandon the battleground. Goosebumps incoming!
Arun Khetarpal was born in Pune, Maharashtra, and served in the Indian Army’s renowned ‘Poona Horse’ regiment. During the 1971 India-Pakistan War, he was martyred on the battlefield after displaying extraordinary courage. At just 21 years of age, this young officer stalwartly guarded his country, annihilating several Pakistani tanks and leaving behind a legacy of unparalleled bravery.
Apart from Agastya Nanda, the film also features Jaideep Ahlawat, Dharmendra, and Simar Bhatia (Akshay Kumar’s niece) in leading roles. It is slated for theatrical release in December 2025.
