The Indian film industry was abuzz with speculation after several prominent producers and studio heads were seen leaving Aamir Khan’s residence in Mumbai on Thursday evening. The unexpected gathering of industry heavyweights has sparked widespread rumours of a large-scale collaboration or a strategic meeting to address the evolving landscape of Indian cinema.

Karan Johar, who owns Dharma Productions, attended the event together with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment founder Sajid Nadiadwala, Balaji Telefilms Joint Managing Director Ekta Kapoor and Excel Entertainment co-founders Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani and Tiger Baby Films co-founder Zoya Akhtar and Zee Entertainment Enterprises MD and CEO Punit Goenka.

Sources close to the parties remained tight-lipped about the meeting’s agenda but the presence of such influential personalities has sparked industry chatter about a possible mega project or a unified response to the current challenges facing Bollywood. Industry insiders believe the gathering could mark the beginning of a new collaborative era between the country’s top production companies.

Yogen Shah dropped pictures, and wrote, “Today, some of the top production house founders were spotted stepping out of the building where Aamir Khan resides, sparking buzz across the industry. Sources suggest a meeting was held at his residence. Interestingly, a similar high-profile meeting reportedly took place a few days ago with another BIG star.
At first glance, these gatherings seem to be focused on the current situation of the film industry — but for now, that remains purely speculative. The real purpose behind these meetings will only be clear once an official statement is released.
Looks like something significant is quietly brewing behind the scenes.
Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Ekta Kapoor, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar, Punit Goenka of Zee And other biggies.”
