Amid the impressive success of Jana Nayagan at the box office, the film’s director faces legal trouble. As per the reports, the Madras High Court has sent a notice to director H. Vinoth in connection with a petition seeking removal of objectionable scenes for the action film.
As per the petition, the film has certain scenes and sequences that portray specific communities and real-life events in an objectionable manner or in a misleading way.
Reportedly, the PIL filed by a Madurai resident named Chinnasamy specifically objects to the opening scene, claiming it defames the reputation of the people of Pappapatti village by depicting a fictional sequence where voters’ hands are chopped off.
The film has already been released, and it has been creating wonders at the box office in just five days. The film collected 134.90 crore net in India, while the gross collection is at 157.74 crore. Worldwide collection has now crossed 233.24 crore.
On the matter, Vijay or H. Vinoth has not responded to the buzz around this.
