India’s beloved fashion designer Manish Malhotra is currently facing the hardest moments of his life as his mother, Garima Malhotra, passed away. The incident occurred on March 19, the day of Gudi Padwa/Ugadi. At the time of her demise, Garima was 94 years old.
Garima’s death has disheartened the industry, with many mourning her passing. According to reports, the cremation ceremony of Garima Malhotra was scheduled for March 20, 2026, at 10 am at the Hindu Crematorium in Santa Cruz West, Mumbai.
Manish Malhotra’s team also shared an official statement saying, “With gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we share the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Mrs. Sudarshan Malhotra, at the age of 94. Having been blessed with a long and fulfilling journey, she leaves behind cherished memories, generations of love and a legacy that will continue to guide us.”
As soon as the Bollywood learnt the sad news, members of the film and fashion fraternity gathered at Manish’s residence in Mumbai, paying their tributes. Among those who visited Manish’s house are names like Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Karan Johar, Ananya Panday, Khushi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Natasha Dalal, Sonali Bendre, Karishma Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Jackky Bhagnani, Parineeti Chopra, Raghav Chaddha, Ronit Roy, Malaika Arora, and others.
