Shahid Kapoor’s latest release O’ Romeo, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, is now nearing the end of its first week in theatres. After a decent opening weekend and a steady start to the weekdays, the film has completed six days at the Indian box office. While there has been the expected drop after Sunday, the overall trend so far remains controlled.

On Day 6, which falls on Wednesday, O’ Romeo earned around ₹2.9 crore in India. The numbers are slightly lower than Tuesday’s ₹3.2 crore, but this kind of dip is common during the middle of the week. Most films see reduced footfall on Wednesdays and Thursdays as working days affect theatre occupancy. In that sense, the film maintaining close to ₹3 crore is not a bad sign.

If we look at the overall performance so far, O’ Romeo opened with decent numbers over its first weekend. The film saw its highest collections on Sunday, thanks to strong evening shows and good occupancy in urban centres. Monday saw a drop, as expected, but it remained steady at around ₹3.8 crore. Tuesday brought in ₹3.2 crore, and now Wednesday has added approximately ₹2.9 crore to the total.

With these numbers, the six-day total of O’ Romeo now stands at around ₹30.4 crore in India. Crossing the ₹30 crore mark within six days is a fair result for a film of this scale. However, it is still not a huge number, and the film will need a solid second weekend to push itself into a stronger position.

The biggest reason behind the film’s steady run continues to be Shahid Kapoor. His performance in the film has received positive feedback from a section of the audience.

As it stands, with around ₹30.4 crore collected in six days, O’ Romeo is moving at a moderate pace. It is neither a blockbuster nor a disappointment at this stage. The coming weekend will decide whether it can move from steady to a clear success.
