Satendra Soni, the famous boy from Laapata Ladies and Mirzapur, is yet again in the headlines. Recently, the actor accused a filmmaker named Pushpendra Singh of assaulting and threatening to kill him upon demanding his pending dues following completion of the shoot of Ped Palkhi in Madhya Pradesh. The actor’s confession led to widespread outrage online and in the row. Another filmmaker with the same name, Pushpendra Singh, found himself becoming the victim of abusive messages, threats, and trolling.

Pushpendra, who is misjudged as the filmmaker who threatened Satendra Soni is a former Professor and Head of the Department of Screen Acting at FTII, Pune whose films Lajwanti, Ashwatthama and Laila Aur Satt Geet have screened at Berlin International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival and IDFA Amsterdam shared that from the past couple of days he has been trying to convince strangers that he isn’t the filmmaker who is involved in the controversy.

The filmmaker shared that one of his friends had shared the video of Satendra, after which he checked his Instagram and found that a couple of people had already tagged him, which also gives others a chance to target him. However, he asked them to verify before targeting anyone, and they stopped. Satendra also shared the details of the filmmaker he accused.

However, later he stated that he received frantic calls from his friends asking him to check his Instagram, and then he understood the extent to which the misunderstanding had reached. The innocent filmmaker shared that Pushpendra, who is involved in Satendra’s row, has deactivated his account, and then people found him, and strangers started attacking him for something he had nothing to do with.

But he emphasized that this isn’t the first time people have confused him with the director of Ajmer 92, but it has never happened at a level like this.

Not just that, but the innocent Pushpendra shared that this incident has deeply affected him, highlighting how the reputation he had built over two decades was tarnished overnight, without his fault. He also pointed out that what hurts him the most is not strangers attacking him but those who know him from the fraternity.

And he concluded by saying that he stands by people who have been wronged, but also urges people to verify before targeting someone.
