Yet another shocking piece of news surfaces: Well-known Tamil producer K. Rajan has passed away. The filmmaker reportedly drowned after he fell into the Adyar in Chennai. The incident took place on Sunday, May 17, 2026. As a police official, the producer was estranged from his family and was living alone in a private hotel.
According to the senior police officer of the town, Rajan was reportedly returning to his hotel when, on the way, he asked his driver to stop near the bridge, and he jumped into the river.
As soon as the police were informed, the Adyar police, in association with Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services officers, found the body and sent it for a post-mortem at a Government Royapettah Hospital in Chennai. At present, the police have filed a complaint, and an investigation is underway.
Paying her heartfelt tribute to the passing of K Rajan, actress Keerthy Suresh shared his photo on her Instagram story and posted a joined hands emoji. Keerthy has worked with K. Rajan on the film Paambhu Sattai.

He started his producing journey with the film Brammacharigal in 1983 and made his debut in acting with Michael Raj, and wrote films like Thangamana Thangachi, Chinna Poovai Killathe, and others, and directed the film Unarchigal. He was last seen in the 2023 film Thunivu Bakasuran.
