What do you have to say about the impact created by Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files?

I have not been able to see the film. I would love to. I am sure it is a sincere depiction of what happened to Kashmiri Pandits.I am am completely with the film and I don’t care if Anupam Kher is a part of the film and which party he is speaking for. The plight of the Kashmiri Pandits should be above politics. Having said this I have a question for the BJP government.

What is that?

Where were you when this monstrous injustice against the Kashmiri Pandits was being done? Where were successive government when the 1984 Sikh riots , Godhra and the genocide of Kashmiri Pandits happened and then hushed up? Today you see political mileage in weeping for Kashmiri Pandits. So you jump in. How long will communities be used as vote banks in our country?

You have spoken about Kashmiri Pandits in the past?

Yes, always. On my Shotgun Show I had invited them to have their say. I’ve met families who have suffered. I have spoken about their plight over and over again over the years. The Kashmiri Pandits must get back their homes in Kashmir. And if this film helps them in doing so I am willing to overlook the political opportunism behind this sudden upsurge of empathy for a people who lost their loved ones and their homes 30 years ago.
