Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar turned out to be one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. The film’s India net collection stands at an impressive ₹894.96 crore, with an India gross collection of around ₹1,054.92 crore. Its global appeal is evident from a remarkable worldwide gross of ₹1,354.84 crore, including ₹299.35 crore from overseas markets, with $20.65 million generated in North America alone. Produced on a budget of ₹225 crore, “Dhurandhar” has delivered a phenomenal return on investment of approximately 297.55%, earning it the well-deserved verdict of an All-Time Blockbuster.
The film was slated to come in two parts. That said, Dhurandhar 2 was set to face a major clash with Yash’s Toxic on 19th March. However, now that Yash’s Toxic has been pushed further to 4th June, Dhurandhar 2 goes all solo.
Toxic makers took to their official social media handle, announcing that they have decided to postpone their release date amid the ongoing Middle East crisis. The statement stated, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is a film we conceptualized with the vision to create cinema for a global audience. Filmed in Kannada and English, it is built with the conviction to connect with viewers both at home and across the world. After years of dedicated labour, we were excited to share our film with you all on the 19th of March. However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal to reach and connect with the widest possible audience.” Further adding, the statement read, “Therefore, in the interest of our partners and our audience, we have made the difficult but carefully considered decision to reschedule our release. We thank you for your understanding and patience and look forward to your continued love and support.” Concluding it added, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups will now be released in cinemas across the globe in English and Indian languages on 4th June 2026.”
With Toxic’s release now postponed to June, Dhurandhar 2 is set to enjoy a solo release on 19th March, clearing the way for an unchallenged box office run. This strategic window positions the film to maximise its opening collections and capitalise on the immense anticipation built by the phenomenal success of its predecessor. All eyes are now on Aditya Dhar’s next chapter, with expectations running high that Dhurandhar 2 will create a box office storm.
