The wedding festivities of Ira Khan, the daughter of Bollywood icon Aamir Khan and his former wife Reena Dutta, have officially kicked off. Ira is all set to tie the knot with her fiance Nupur Shikhare on January 3, 2024, and the families wasted no time in beginning the celebrations with the traditional Kelvan ceremony.

Ira, who enjoys a substantial following on social media, shared a series of heartwarming photos from the Kelvan ceremony on her Instagram handle. This ceremony is a cherished Maharashtrian tradition and marks the beginning of the pre-wedding celebrations, where the families of the bride and groom invite each other to join in a special meal and exchange gifts.

The images from the Kelvan ceremony captured the essence of the event, radiating joy and togetherness. Ira looked resplendent in a saree adorned with traditional Maharashtrian jewellery, including a Peshwai nath. Nupur opted for a traditional look, perfectly complementing his bride-to-be.

One of the standout moments of the event was a candid shot of Ira, seemingly looking at Nupur with affection, as he prepared to feed her with a spoon. The Kelvan ceremony also saw the participation of close friends and well-wishers, who added to the joyous atmosphere. Among the guests were Ira’s friends Mithila Palkar and Zayn Marie Khan, who were there to celebrate this special moment with the couple. Reena, Ira’s mother, looked elegant in a red saree as she joined in the festivities.
