Actors Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade have joined the growing *#WhatsOnYourPlate Challenge, an awareness initiative linked to the upcoming film *The India Story. Through their social media posts, both actors encouraged people to take a closer look at the food they consume and participate in a larger conversation around pesticide use and food adulteration. While Kajal shared a picture of her meal with a thought-provoking message asking whether what we eat is truly safe, Shreyas echoed the sentiment by urging audiences to become more conscious consumers and support the movement.
The challenge encourages individuals to post pictures of their meals and nominate friends and family members to do the same, creating a chain of awareness around food safety. Kajal also nominated fellow actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Rakul Preet Singh to take part in the initiative, helping amplify the campaign’s reach across social media platforms. The campaign aims to encourage discussions on the quality of food that reaches our plates and the hidden concerns that often go unnoticed.
The initiative aligns with the core theme of The India Story, which shines a spotlight on the issue of pesticide farming. The makers of The India Story continue to build momentum ahead of the film’s release. Presented by Zee Studios in association with MIG Production & Studios, the film is directed by Chettan DK and written and produced by Sagar B. Shinde. Slated for a worldwide theatrical release on July 24, 2026, the film will release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. The project is backed by co-producers Swati Vinayak Saindane, Anita Jadhav, Vinayak Saindane, Kalpesh Shah, Devyani Khorate, and Prem Joshi. The technical team includes cinematographer Nishant Bhagwat, music composer Mangesh Dhakde, editor Ashish Mhatre, lyricist Shakeel Azami, and sound designer Anmol Bhave.
