Filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah has carved a distinct place in Indian cinema by delivering films that balance entertainment with strong storytelling. Among his many ventures, the 2011 action thriller Force remains a milestone. Completing 14 years today, the film still resonates as a rare combination of power-packed action, raw intensity, and heartfelt emotions.
Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and directed by the late Nishikant Kamat, Force brought together a compelling cast led by John Abraham, Genelia D’Souza, and Vidyut Jammwal. The film told the story of ACP Yashvardhan (John Abraham), a tough narcotics officer whose life takes a dramatic turn when he finds love with Maya (Genelia). Their tender romance beautifully contrasted the adrenaline-pumping action sequences, creating an emotional core that set Force apart from conventional action thrillers.
The highlight of the film was not only John’s intense performance but also the unforgettable debut of Vidyut Jammwal, whose portrayal of the menacing antagonist left audiences spellbound. Meanwhile, Shah is now gearing up for his much-anticipated directorial comeback, Hisaab, a heist thriller starring Jaideep Ahlawat and Shefali Shah, slated to release in late 2025.
