Ahead of the Grand Trailer Launch of The Bengal Files, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi Visit Kalighat Kali Temple in Kolkata for Blessings!
Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, regarded as one of Indian cinema’s boldest and most courageous filmmakers, is now gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated film, The Bengal Files. Part of his truth-telling trilogy, the film explores yet another hidden and painful chapter of India’s history.
Ahead of the much-awaited trailer launch of The Bengal Files in Kolkata, West Bengal, filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri visited the iconic Kalighat Kali Temple. The visit was aimed at seeking blessings and offering prayers to the revered goddess Maha Kali. Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri has shared pictures and videos straight from Kalighat with a caption that reads,
Ever since the teaser dropped, it has sparked controversy, with multiple FIRs reportedly filed by workers of Mamata Banerjee’s TMC. The makers, including Agnihotri, producer Abhishek Agarwal, and Pallavi Joshi, were accused of portraying contentious content. However, the High Court intervened, granting interim relief and putting a stay on all FIRs, allowing the film’s journey to move forward.
The Bengal Files is written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumar. The film, presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal & I Am Buddha Productions, is part of Vivek’s Files trilogy, which includes The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. The film will arrive in theatres on September 5, 2025.
