Alia Bhatt shot to headlines after she tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, in an intimate wedding. However, while their love story has inspired many in the country, here we take you back to the time when the Gully Boy actress revealed that she got dumped when she was in secondary school, at the Koffee With Karan show, where she came as a guest along with her co-stars from Student Of The Year, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. In the episode, Karan Johar asked Alia to clarify a statement made by Varun, that she had a string of young boyfriends
Alia Bhatt was only 20 during her first showcase with Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, said, “I wouldn’t call it a string, but I did have (boyfriends) and serious relationships, like two years, (then) two years.” Karan Johar, the SOTY director was all in shock to hear that by the time she was 17, she already had two serious relationships. And then he asked, “you started dating at 10”, to this Bhatt replied, “That’s why I say it’s not a string. I started dating in 6th standard,” as quoted by Hindustan Times.
She then added, “But that obviously wasn’t dating. That was just like we used to smile at each other from across the classroom.”, to this, Varun on the show joked about it and called it ‘half base’, then Alia Bhatt replied, “There was no half anything. I actually had my first boyfriend in the 10th standard.”
When asked if those were her serious relationships, she said, “Because I dated him for two years. He was my first, like high-school love.”. Then Karan asked if she dumped her boyfriend to become a movie actor, to this, Alia said that it was the other way round.
