It has been thirteen years since James Cameron released the highest-grossing film of all time ‘Avatar‘. And the sequel of this awaited film premiered last night on Tuesday. The film’s teaser takes the viewers back to the thrilling and enchanting theme of Pandora. Here the first native blue Navi fought against the human colonists for the moon’s natural resources.
While the film features Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana as leads playing Jake Sully and Neytiri, who are now parents to five kids, their life is once again interrupted as the ‘Sky People’ are back, a Navi name for humans searching for Sully. And to provide safety to their family, Neytiri and Sully fled far and took refuge with the oceanic Metkayina clan.
Talking about her emotional role Zoe Saldana said, “This is a heart-wrenching story, it’s mighty, it’s very powerful, you hope that it connects (with audiences), but it’s not just the carbon copy of the first one, we’ve really expanded the world, we’ve expanded this family unit.” While Sam Worthington said in an interview, “This was a labor of love spread out over a decade, so it’s great to finally be able to share it.” Further, Zoe also mentioned, “It was exciting, it was also very scary because obviously, Jim had raised the stakes for himself, which meant that everybody was going to have a brand new challenge to deal with.”
