The Chris Hemsworth starrer Thor: Love And Thunder directed by Takia Waititi was released last week on Thursday. Being the fourth release in the Thor franchise and the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic universe expectations of the film were at an all-time high.

According to Koi Moi, as per Box Office Mojo, the movie has made $302 million globally over the opening weekend. This also includes the Thursday previews and numbers from several markets where the film was released a day earlier. Consisting of $143 million in the US and $159 million overseas, Thor: Love and Thunder has set a new record. It was just an inch lower than Jurassic World Dominion’s domestic opening ($145 million) but has surpassed all the previous Thor movies’ openings, including Ragnarok.

The opening of the film helped it secure a place in the top 5 Hollywood openers, all occupied by Marvel. The second day saw a significant drop as the film fell by around 40 percent, to Rs. 11.40 cr. The film sprung back into action and surprised the trade with a big jump on its first Saturday, by recording Rs.16.80 cr. The film recorded its biggest ticketing day on Sunday as it added Rs. 18.40 cr.
