Singer and songwriter Kanishk Panwar is young and talented. His first single ‘Raat Kharaab’ which launched on 8 April shows us the right amalgamation of music and tunes, with the unconventional guitar sounds. The chorus reminds the listener of the 80’s disco vibe.
The song is a campaign that urges its listeners to go out and take a chance on themselves and stop waiting around for that opportunity to show up. It gives them a vision of their dreams being fulfilled but only if they act upon it right now. The song asks you to believe in yourself no matter how hard life is right now. And that we are all meant for greatness, all we need to do is to put ourselves out there and take action.
Talking about Kanishk Panwar, he is a Gurgaon based producer with a knack of experimenting. Primarily a guitar player, the producer can paint a coherent picture with his arrangement by creatively choosing the details in his music. He takes inspiration from artists like Ratatat, Radiohead, Hasan Raheem and Shamoon Ismail.
Says Kanishk, “Most of my work has been a result of persistent experimenting. I feel like the more I dive into the producing part of music, the more I am able to make new things. It could be something as simple as a new effect, or a single sound that could strike something in me and end up being the motivation for writing a new song.”
“I’ve always enjoyed listening to music more than playing. I like to find a new part of myself in every new song I listen to. Some of my favourite artists are underrated and outlandish artists like Ratatat and Explosions in the sky. They might not speak to the masses but for me they are the best musicians in the world. And that is the idea of success to me. To make someone somewhere out there, who listens to music like I do, find a new part of themselves through my art,” he states.
Best of luck!!
