Nicki Minaj has been crushing it in the rap business for a long time, and she’s changed her image a lot since she first came out. But isn’t that why she’s one of the most well-known artists? She’s always had a bright and whimsical fashion sense to go with her outstanding singing and rapping style, from her Pink Friday era—and her various personalities—through her newest CD, Beam Me Up, Scotty. We’ve picked together some of the singer’s most memorable looks, including her pink latex costume from the VMAs and her countless Met Gala ensembles throughout the years.

It’s a collection of over-the-top, creative, and elegant styles that can only be characterized as SO Nicki Minaj, spanning more than a decade. Nicki donned this modest all-black ensemble to one of her first red-carpet appearances, the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2009. The Barbie nameplate necklace, on the other hand, is already in place. Nicki wore this black mini dress with the aforementioned Barbie necklace and pink highlights to the GQ Men of the Year dinner in 2009. Buckle up because this is the last time you’ll see her like this for a long time. Boom! Take a look at the orange wig she wore at the 2010 BET Awards. It looks fantastic with this delicate white gown. Your favorite would never be able to. Nicki dressed up as Barb in a hot-pink wig and sky-high metallic platforms for her first VMAs appearance in 2010. Nicki Hadid wore this one-of-a-kind ensemble to the 2010 American Music Awards, designed by Manish Arora.

Nicki wasn’t nominated for anything at this specific ceremony, so they should be grateful that she was able to attend. Nicki’s behavior becomes very erratic at this point. She wore this Bride of Frankenstein wig with a head-to-toe leopard suit to the 2011 Grammy Awards, and it wouldn’t seem out of place in Cher’s closet. And you thought the one with the Bride of Frankenstein wig was out of the ordinary? Nicki’s VMAs costume was probably one of her most complicated ensembles, but she pulled it off like a pro. For “Super Bass,” she won the Moonman for Best Hip-Hop Video that year. She donned this pom-pom ensemble to the Carolina Herrera show, where she was sat next to none other than Anna Wintour. Her hair was styled in a high updo, and she wore neon bottoms with her pleated skirt. So! Many! Colors!
