One of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian music industry was Mohammed Rafi. He had a very notable voice and range of different shades that made his songs very unique and different from others. He could sing Qawwalis, ghazals, bhajans, classic, romantic and the patriotic genre in songs. He sang in such a way that the songs would mold according to the style and persona of the actor, who could lip-sync the song on the screen perfectly. He has been honored with many different awards, including the Padma Shri, by the government of India. He has also been tagged as the best singer of the millennium.

Mohammad Rafi was the best thing that has ever happened to the Bollywood music industry. He had a strong command over Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi languages. Not just these languages, he has sung in many vernacular languages and many foreign languages as well. Mohammad Rafi had worked with many notable composers and music directors like Naushad Ali, Shankar Jaikishan, SD Burman, Roshan and many more.

Mohammed Rafi’s voice and style of singing have been proven to be a great mentor and tutor to many singers. Some of the singers who were influenced by Rafi’s technique of singing were Sonu Nigam, Shabbir Kumar, Mahendra Kapoor, Udit Narayan, to name a few.
