Olympics can be the greatest platform to compete on for any athlete ever. With the plethora of events and the recognition that it gets to an individual, it can simply be overwhelming. However, it didn’t feel like that when these stars of India gave their best performances at the Olympics stage and made the country proud by bagging medals. But the Olympics are organized every once in four years and sometimes people have no clue of what these athletes would be doing during this time.

Let us take a look at these Olympic stars of Tokyo 2020 and what they are up to now.

Neeraj Chopra

The 23-year-old Neeraj, a farmer’s son from a small village in Haryana became an overnight sensation after he won a gold medal for India in the javelin throw event. Post his victory when he was asked about his future plans, he said, “I was just focussing on the Olympics this year. Now that I have won the gold, I will plan ahead for the upcoming competitions. After coming to India, I will again look for a foreign visa to take part in international events.”

Mirabai Chanu

The first-ever Indian weightlifter to win an Olympic medal, Silver, was showered with praises and accolades from all over the country. Upon her victory, the chief minister of her state Manipur announced that she would be appointed as an Additional Superintendent of Police (Sports) by the Manipur government. Recently taking to her Instagram she gave the news of resuming work in the Manipur Police.

Ravi Dahiya

Ravi Kumar Dahiya won a silver medal in freestyle wrestling. Upon his victory, he said that he was happy with his medal but not satisfied and would work harder to aim for the gold at the 2024 Olympics. He is currently training for the next round of the Olympics.
