Abhishek Sharrma has come a long way in his career, and is known today as Devansh Singh Chauhan in Zee TV’s Vasudha. The actor is currently focused on his work, but he recently took a break to think about his childhood and share simple but very personal memories of summer vacations.
For Abhishek, summers were never about plans—they were about a feeling. “When I think of summer vacations as a child, the first thing that comes to my mind is freedom. No alarms, no stress from school, just long unplanned days that somehow turn into the best memories,” he said.
A big part of those memories is tied to his grandmother’s home, where the entire family would come together. He recalled how those days were filled with constant activity and laughter. “I always used to travel to my grandmother’s home whenever summer vacations came. So all my brothers and sisters would be there, and we would spend our summer vacations together,” he shared.
Even during holidays, he had his own system. Abhishek used to finish all of his schoolwork in the first week of his vacations so he wouldn’t have to worry about it during the rest of the break. Along with spending time with his family, he travelled a lot as a child during summer vacation. He looked forward to going to the mountains every year, especially Mussoorie and Manali.
When asked about the moments he would want to relive, his answer came instantly – playing cricket. “We used to play on the terrace with 10 to 15 friends from afternoon till evening,” he said. Those matches were followed by simple joys like homemade lemonade and resting in front of coolers.
He also spoke about smaller memories that stayed with him—eating mangoes, arguing over the last piece, cycling till sunset, and doing absolutely nothing with friends. “Those simple things felt like everything back then,” he said.
Looking back, Abhishek feels it wasn’t about where they went, but who they were with. “When friendships were pure, responsibilities were zero, and happiness didn’t need a reason,” he added, summing up a childhood that was uncomplicated, real, and full of life.
