In television dramas, the introduction of a third character in a love story usually signals trouble, but Simran Rawal is quick to clarify that her character, Swati, in the newly launched Zee TV show, Tu Hi Re Dil Mein, breaks that mould entirely. Contrary to what we have seen earlier, Swati isn’t here to play the antagonist, as Simran claims.
“Honestly, Swati is not negative to the plot. We usually presume that when the third angle enters, she will be the villain. But Swati can never hurt a person and is very kind. She loves Sanjay a lot, and she will never become a villain.”
I am happy that the audience has been able to connect to Abrar and my chemistry on screen.
For Simran, stepping into Swati’s shoes felt instantly familiar. While she displays a louder personality in real life, Simran feels Swati is quieter. “Swati is similar to me in many ways. Swati is deeply attached and emotionally available. I am also empathetic. Swati is not as expressive as Simran. Simran is very loud. I am understanding Swati with every passing day.”
Securing a lead role is a massive milestone for any actor, and Simran admits the journey came with its fair share of anxiety. However, the overwhelming warmth from both the team and the audience quickly turned her nervousness into gratitude. “A dream come true to play this role. It is a big opportunity for me. I cannot believe that I play the lead here. I had faced tense moments of acceptance and love. But thanks to all the love and care from the team and viewers, I have received a positive response. Acceptance means the world to me at the moment.”
Every day on set offers a new opportunity to refine her craft under the guidance of her director and peers. “It’s like going to school every single day. I learn a lot from our Director, Ankur Bhatia and all the co-actors. I like to learn. I enjoy the process of learning on set. I feel motivated to become a better version of myself.”
One of the major highlights of Tu Hi Re Dil Mein has been the palpable connection between the leads. Simran credits her co-star, Abrar, and their director for creating a comfortable environment that translates seamlessly onto the screen. “I am happy that the audience has been able to connect to Abrar and my chemistry on screen. Abrar is very supportive. We are at ease when we are with each other. This reflects in our chemistry onscreen. All credit to our Director Sir for bringing out this beautiful chemistry between us.”

As the show progresses, Simran is eager to dive deeper into her character’s emotional spectrum. “I hope the audience continues to connect with Swati’s journey. I want to explore different shades of emotions in the character. This is just the beginning for me as an actor. I want to give my cent per cent and grow as much as possible with this opportunity.”
