Actor Kabir Sadanand, known for featuring in TV shows Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Shagun, Family No. 1, Class, among others, is excited to celebrate the festival of lights, Diwali, with his family. People get excited for Diwali through traditions like decorating homes with lights and colourful rangoli, exchanging gifts and sweets with loved ones, wearing new clothes, and setting off fireworks. The excitement is also fueled by family gatherings, worship, and the positive feelings associated with the festival of lights.

Talking about the triumph of good over evil, Kabir talks about an instance of him seeing it happen. “I have seen families and adults alike overcoming their fear of animals at our cafe in Goa. It is a fulfilling feeling to see man and animals in a magical symphony.”

Ask him about any dark thoughts that he would want to eradicate from himself this Diwali, and he states, “I would like to let go of my dark thought of putting up barriers while meeting people. Over the last year, I have met such wonderful people who were strangers and are now friends. I still have a fair distance to go. ”

“The Victory of good over evil should be celebrated every day. One good thing done to any stranger may seem difficult, but it is not. Try it; even a small gesture can make a difference in someone’s life. Growing is giving and sharing,” he talks about inculcating the habit of helping.

On his family’s Diwali plans, he states, “We will first celebrate Narakasura (Narkasur is a unique pre-Diwali celebration) on the eve of Narakasura Chaturdashi, featuring large, creative effigies of the demon Narkasur that are paraded through the streets before being burned. This tradition symbolises the victory of good over evil, a victory attributed to Lord Krishna’s slaying of the demon Narkasur. Ours will be a quiet but happy Diwali. I live amongst my family of 65 pets, and I want to make it safer and quieter for all. I have planned a feast of food that all of us like, but for me, I miss the Revdi from Delhi where I grew up.”

Here’s wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali!!
