Popular actress Neha Mehta of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame is playing a different yet engaging character in Sony SAB‘s show Itti Si Khushi presently. The actress had a working Diwali, as she was busy shooting for her show.
Neha, in an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com, discussed her Diwali plans and shared special memories associated with the festival.
Neha recollected the times where her mother made Diwali spectacular with her Poojas at home. “My mother has given us the most special Diwali memories. The traditional poojas, Diwali nashtas, and cleaning the house, every experience was heavenly. My mother was renowned for her spirituality and devotion. My mother took all the pain to make us happy at every moment. Unfortunate that cancer took her away from us.”
“After that, Diwali is just about lighting diyas for us. My father has been my anchor, and I make a point to be around him on the day. I love to be with my younger sister too,” she added.
Neha stressed the need for us to live our lives by example, by always embracing the light and rejecting any sort of darkness. “We need to be good as humans. We need to make sure that good wins amid all evils in the world.”
Neha said that being born as a girl child was a huge responsibility in itself. “As women, we have the responsibility of raising new generations with good values. We need to teach our kids to live in the present and not brood over the past. Every woman should be the heroine in her life and inspire people around her.”
Last but not the least, Neha expressed that she was a foodie, especially during the festive moments. Taking the list of her favourite delicacies, she said, “I love all the Gujarati nashtas, with my favourites being Gujiya, Sev Gathiya Laddoos, Chakli, Farsi Puri etc.
