Nidhi Gangta, who has been steadily carving her space in the television industry playing a negative lead role in Colors TV‘s Seher Hone Ko Hai, has earned praise for her compelling portrayal of Nazima, a negative lead that stands out for its depth and emotional complexity. Known for her sincerity towards her craft, Nidhi believes roles like Nazima don’t just test an actor’s skill but also leave a lasting impact on audiences when portrayed with honesty and restraint. The show is produced by Richa Yamini’s Icecream Dreams and Aarambh Entertainment.

“Playing Nazima has been one of the most challenging yet fulfilling experiences of my career,” says Nidhi Gangta. “She is not just a negative character; she is layered, emotional, and driven by her own fears and desires. As an actor, it pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and explore shades I hadn’t explored before.”

Talking about embracing a negative lead, Nidhi shares, “I truly believe grey and negative characters give you more room to perform. Nazima demanded honesty from me in every scene, and I enjoyed surrendering to that intensity.”

Reflecting on how the role impacted her as an artist, she adds, “Nazima taught me patience and emotional control. You can’t play a negative role with excess; you have to understand where the character is coming from. I spent a lot of time understanding her psychology so that the audience could connect, even if they didn’t agree with her actions.”

Concluding on audience reactions, Nidhi says, “When people tell me they felt conflicted about Nazima, hating her yet understanding her, that feels like a win. Negative roles often stay with audiences longer, and if Nazima does that, then I feel truly grateful as an actor.”
