Senior actor Amit Singh Thakur is presently enjoying his outings as actor with Vikram Bhatt’s recently streamed series, Maaya 2 and the &TV show, Mitegi Lakshmanrekha.
As reported by us, Thakur plays the corrupt minister in Maaya 2. On his stint for the web-series, he states, “It was an awesome experience shooting for Maaya 2. I did not expect the role to turn out so well. Vikram Bhatt is a known friend and when he offered the role, I was very sceptical about doing it. But all’s well that ends well. It has turned out to be a fantastic role and you will need to watch it to know more. Working with Krishna Bhatt was a delight; she is an awesome young talent. She has done a great job. The response for the series has been very good too.”
Amit Singh Thakur plays the father-like-figure to the male lead (Rahul Sharma) in &TV’s Mitegi Lakshman Rekha. “My character has just been introduced and will take time to open up. As of now, it is my onscreen wife (Karuna Verma) who is the more dominating one. But I have a good character graph; he is now seen to be the positive guy who does not get into much of the matters with his wife. The Writer Raghuveer Shekhawat has characterized each and every character well. As the plot unfolds, the story will pick up pace and will turn out to be one delight to watch.”
Thakur who earlier worked as Head of Operations and EVP – Promos and Line Production with Shashi Sumeet Productions is happy to be part of the same team as an actor now with the show on &TV. “Yes, it is like a homecoming for me. I know every person on the set, from the light man to the spot boy. Even today, they come and greet me saying ‘Boss’. After being part of the team from behind the camera, it is good to be an actor now. I am enjoying the ambience in the new role. There is less of stress on me (smiles). I am having a good time as an actor.”
He will also be seen in the role of a minister in the upcoming movie, Race 3.
Way to go, Amit!!
