Popular artist Shilpa Shinde is brimming with energy as she readies herself for Holi this year. Essaying the iconic Angoori Bhabi in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai 2.0, Shilpa Shinde cherishes the traditional Maharashtrian essence of Holi celebrations. In an exclusive talk with IWMBuzz.com, Shilpa recollects her special Holi memories as a child and also gives us an idea about her celebration this year.

Says Shilpa, “Holi reminds me of my childhood celebrations in Maharashtra, beginning with the traditional Holika Dahan — lighting the bonfire with prayers for prosperity and happiness. The next day is pure joy, playing with vibrant dry colours, bursting water balloons, and dancing to folk tunes with friends and family. My mother would prepare festive treats like puran poli and shrikhand, which we eagerly waited for all year. The air would be filled with laughter, music, and the aroma of homemade delicacies.”

Talking about her plans for the year, she says, “This year, I plan to celebrate in the same spirit — joyful yet intimate — with close friends and family. I look forward to playing with dry colours safely, indulging in traditional treats, and soaking in the positivity and togetherness that Holi brings.”

Holi serves as a time to forgive and forget, turning past grievances into new, colourful bonds. From the sweetest moments of colouring near and dear ones with Gulaal, to enjoying the taste of homemade Gujiyas, Malpuas, and Thandai, the core celebration of Holi is always colourful and grand.

Here’s wishing everyone a Happy Holi!!
