Senior actor Sachin Parikh, who plays the powerful role of Prabhat Singh Chauhan in Zee TV’s popular show Vasudha, has always been a strong pillar in the Chauhan household, with a balanced and progressive approach. Prabhat Singh Chauhan has been the catalyst when it came to solving many problems in the house.
The ongoing track in the Arvind Babbal Productions show sees the shocking twist of Prabhat’s car meeting with an accident, post which, there is palpable tension around on whether he is alive or not.
At this juncture, we at IWMBuzz.com talked to Sachin Parikh regarding the major plot twist, wherein he talked at length about his journey with the show, how his character is pivotal in holding the family together and more.
Talking about the role and its importance in the show, Sachin says, “Vasudha has given a lot of scope for me as an actor to perform a character which is mature and understanding. The manner in which the narrative built up strength, trust and reliance with regard to Prabhat’s character has been commendable. He is the one who can go to any extent to make things work for his sons and for his entire family.”
“Prabhat’s character has been one of the biggest strengths in the Chauhan house. Prabhat played a catalyst in the love story of Dev and Vasudha. With a constant battle emerged of Chandrika not accepting Vasu as her daughter-in-law, Prabhat’s intervention with his intelligence, compassion and immense love for Vasu as a father figure was loved by the audience.The manner in which he balanced between his love for Chandrika and her reluctance to Vasu tactfully has been endearing to watch,” he says.
The present track of Prabhat’s accident has made Sachin feel lost for words. The response to the accident track has been overwhelming, with fans being worried for Papasa, and dropping feedback that they want him back on the show. “I am really overwhelmed with the present track of Prabhat’s accident and the feedback from the viewers on social media. Certain viewers went on to realise how difficult it would be to watch the show without me!! I am really grateful for all the love coming in. I can assure fans that the makers are definitely trying to work out the next plot with utmost care and sensitivity, so that they do full justice to the overall plot, at the same time, not hurt the sentiments of the viewers who are so attached to the character of Prabhat Singh Chauhan.”
Speaking about the beautiful bond that Prabhat and Chandrika share as a couple, he says, “Prabhat and Chandrika make for one of the ideal couples on Indian television today. He has been a husband who has pushed his wife forward to take care of their business, seeing her capabilities. The writers have written their characters uniquely and never made Prabhat look submissive to his wife. Chandrika’s love and respect for her husband have been shown from episode one. Though their ideologies have been different in many situations, their equation as a couple has been unique and inspirational.”
Talking about Dev and Vasudha’s love story being path-breaking, the actor states, “This is a very unusual and unacceptable love story, keeping in mind the taboo of social norms. But Prabhat always knew that Chandrika would eventually accept the relationship. Yes, the journey has been and continues to be a tough one. The entry of Prabhat’s mother and the narrative of history repeating itself were wonderfully written and executed.”
He is thankful for the show coming to him. “I am really glad that I’m representing a character, a father figure, an individual that every girl would expect to come into their lives post their marriage. A loving and romantic husband, a loving father and a father-in-law. Now, Prabhat is also a very sensitive son; this makes Prabhat a man of strong principles and a loving personality.”
Lastly, we wanted him to spill the beans on what is to be expected, to which he says, “The viewers will now expect the well-being of Prabhat, and would definitely wait for the disappearance mystery to unfold. Also, the big question remains of Dev and Vasudha’s acceptance. So a lot to look forward to, I will say.”
