Ashish Kaul has spent over three decades becoming one of Indian television’s most dependable faces, moving seamlessly between lead roles and father figures without losing his distinct screen presence. In the last year alone, his work reflects that range—from the supernatural world of Naagin 7 to back-to-back projects with Luv Films and Dharmatic Entertainment.

Ashish’s ability to switch tones made him a go-to for negative and layered characters. His stint as Parmeet Suri in Colors TV’s Naagin 7 is a recent example. The actor says, “The role began as a ruthless anti-national but gradually added comic undertones, a shift that I give credit to the writing team’s flexibility. As I have said earlier, TV demands that actors adapt episode to episode, and Parmeet became a fan favourite for that very blend of menace and wit.”

Father roles have been a recurring thread in his career, and 2025 added another to the list. In July, he wrapped Sony TV’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 4 as Rishabh’s father, produced by Balaji Telefilms. Before that, his portrayal of Dildar Singh Ahuja in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye earned him the Best Sasur award at the Zee Rishtey Awards. “I am happy with the stature of roles that have come to me. The father figures that I have lately played on television have carried immense weight in addition to being good background figures.”

Off-screen, Ashish made headlines for sharing the frame with his son, actor Vivan Kaul, in a vertical microdrama and a commercial.

He has also wrapped shooting for Luv Films’ Dada, a project that keeps plot details under wraps but aligns with Luv Films’ track record of clean, youth-centric storytelling. He will also be seen in Dharmatic Entertainment’s Amazon Prime Video series Dono Mile Iss Tarah.

From father roles in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 4 to Parmeet Suri in Naagin 7, and now Luv Films and Dharmatic projects back-to-back, Ashish Kaul is proving that versatility and consistency still matter in the industry.
