For Mansi Srivastava, who portrays the character of Revati in Zee TV’s popular show Lakshmi Niwas, Karwa Chauth holds a special place in her heart. While hectic daily shooting schedules can sometimes alter festive plans, her dedication to the fast remains unwavering. Married to Kapil Tejwani, Mansi opens up about her personal festive traditions, celebrating the festival amidst demanding work hours and more.
Even when busy shoot schedules make observing other traditional fasts nearly impossible, Karwa Chauth is an absolute constant for Mansi. “I have been keeping Karwa Chauth since the first year of my marriage. I truly love this festival. For the first two years, I did all the pujas with my neighbours. After that, due to my shoot, I couldn’t always do a proper community puja, so I do my puja alone—and then we head out for a nice dinner on Karwa Chauth. Interestingly, he also insists on keeping the fast.”
Festive dressing is an art, and for Mansi, Karwa Chauth calls for a very specific, timeless aesthetic. But off-screen, what makes her partnership truly special is how her husband handles her on-screen romantic sequences with humour and total support. “I personally prefer wearing a nice red colour suit for Karwa Chauth—it has to be a proper, rich shade of red. I wear my mangalsutra and sindoor and love being fully dressed in red for the occasion. When it comes to my professional life, my onscreen romance never makes my husband jealous. He is extremely understanding and supportive; in fact, he makes fun of it and loves to roast people whenever he sees my scenes!”
While past celebrations may have involved planned getaways or elaborate dinner dates, this year’s tight shooting schedule calls for adapting to the grind without losing the romance. “In the past, I’ve been treated to some really wonderful dinners on Karwa Chauth. But now, with my shoot commitments, I cannot plan anything grand. Honestly, just relaxing at home with my hubby sounds like the best thing ever. If I get off early, I hope to have a wonderful, peaceful time with him.”
