Today is a day specifically designed to challenge the diet culture that is prevalent in today’s time. Observed as International No Diet Day, today which is 6 May, the day prioritises healthy relationships with food, rather than taking on a diet regime. The day also urges people not to keep a fixation on their growing body weight. Priya Thakur, the lead of Zee TV’s Vasudha talks about body positivity and hitting the right balance in food and fitness to keep fit.
She says, “Fitness plays a crucial role in maintaining both physical health and mental well-being. It helps me stay energised and focused through long hours on the sets of Vasudha, and I usually make it a point to hit the gym early in the morning and bring clean, homemade meals with me.”
She talks about keeping this day different and special. “But on International No Diet Day, I am happily hitting pause on all that discipline — and ordering myself a cheesy, loaded pizza!. It is my ultimate comfort food, and I believe it is important to enjoy these little pleasures without guilt,” she says.
For me, wellness is about balance — working out, eating right, but also celebrating the moments when you can let go, laugh, and treat yourself. So today, I am raising a slice to body positivity, self-love, and food that makes the soul smile,” she ends.
Way to go and well said!!
