Raksha Bandhan is a heartfelt occasion that brings families together, fostering a sense of unity and joy. This vibrant festival beautifully symbolises the deep bond between siblings, encapsulating the essence of love, protection, and mutual respect. During this time, brothers and sisters gather to celebrate their unique relationship, exchanging heartfelt wishes and promises. Today, as we celebrate Raksha Bandhan (August 9), we have actress Mohak Matkar, the leading lady of Zee TV‘s Saru, explaining how the void in her life, not having a brother, has now been filled. She celebrates the special day with her sibling from the set of Saru.
Mohak Matkar says, “I have never had a real brother, and I have often felt that absence whenever I needed support or guidance. However, life blessed me with someone who, though not related by blood, became the brother I always wished for.”
On finding a brother on the set of her show, she avers, “On the set of Saru, I found the brother I never had in Vishal Sharma, who plays Balaji. From the start, we just clicked, and over time, our bond grew stronger, like that of real siblings. We may not be related by blood, but the connection we share is no less meaningful. He’s someone I can be completely myself around, whether it’s sharing a laugh between takes or offering support when things get overwhelming.”
She goes on to say, “I have tied him a Rakhi as well. This Raksha Bandhan, what matters most to me is not the gifts or rituals, but the chance to celebrate that sense of togetherness on set, with someone who has become like family to me.”
Happy Raksha Bandhan to all our readers!!
