Adnan Khan, who plays the lead role of Vikrant Saluja in Colors TV and Malhar Content Creators’ show, Mannat Har Khushi Paane Ki, recently opened up about his experience observing Ramadan while balancing a demanding shooting schedule.
Talking about what makes the holy month special to him, the actor said, “I would have to say that just being good and actually, finding an excuse to do good, is the best aspect. What happens is that sometimes we do good, but we tend to think that people might take advantage of our kindness, patience, charity, etc. But I think this is the one month where I allow myself to be taken advantage. This is what I enjoy the most about the month.”
Talking about his daily routine during this month, Adnan states, “I am one of the lucky ones, as I am always in a dieting mode, at least for the intense stuff. I don’t drink tea or coffee. I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, so I am not giving up too much during this month.”
On his Eid celebrations, he says, “I look forward to spending time with my family. I do look forward to the morning prayer. I do look forward to a tradition, but I don’t know whether I will be able to travel this year, as the war is going on and there is a lack of travel. But the tradition is that, after prayer, my brother and I go and have a great breakfast.”
Addressing the challenges of fasting while working as an actor, he states, “I would have to say that it has an undertone of difficulty throughout the month. It is not intense difficulty. But I genuinely believe that I find it harder when shooting in the scorching sun. The most challenging part is about patience and following the rules and regulations of spirituality during the month.”
Reflecting on the spiritual aspect of the month, he emphasises, “Honestly, the trial has been there as we have been shooting non-stop. There have been days when I have been totally exhausted. Even with my exhaustion, I stayed connected with spirituality. This month has put that into practice for me.”
