Mohit Raina was grown in Jammu and was born into a Kashmiri Brahmin household on August 14, 1982, to P.L. Raina and Sushma Kumara. He attended the Jammu Kendriya Vidyalaya School for his education, and the University of Jammu awarded him a bachelor’s degree in commerce. He relocated to Mumbai to start a modeling career. He reduced 29 kilogrammes (64 lb) from his youthful weight of 107 kilogrammes (236 lb) so that he could compete in the 2005 Grasim Mister India modelling competition. His acting career began in 2006 when he appeared in the Star Plus science fiction TV programme Antariksh.
